The Journey of building our forever home

The Journey of building our forever home

Lounge Room Reveal

After what feels like an eternity with bits and pieces being ordered and installed over the last few months our lounge room is finally finished!  This room has been transformed by plantation shutters, custom built cabinetry and a range of furniture including lounges, side table, lamp and cushions

The TV was also moved to the large wall and its now a beautiful place to relax with the family and especially lovely when we have the fire on as its so cosy.

Here is what we started with - the room obviously had good features but lacked style!  We basically plonked our old furniture when we moved and knew down the track it would all be updated. It's actually been good to live in the space for a while and really work out what we needed

And as it stands today - a now beautiful and styled space that is a joy to be in and matches our dining and kitchen areas

Now that this room is completed we just need to finish the dining room.  Our table top is currently being re sanded and stained ( its been fun without a table for 2 weeks!) and I will then purchase new bentwood chairs and finally the three adjoining spaces will be completed

  1. Hi Louise,
I am so excited to see your gorgeous finished room and so happy you and your boys! The space is so tranquil, warm and inviting - perfection! Love the rug - the colour is divine, was it made to match the rest of the carpet in your house? Bring on winter - curling up in that lounge room will be bliss!
    Cheers
    Jo

    1. Thank you so much Jo! The rug is actually the same as our carpet - we had it made when building the house as we knew we would require something very large for this space that we may not find in a rug :)

  2. WOW! WOW! WOW! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! You have created such a restful and harmonious space. Would you mind sharing the Marble and timber side table wholesaler? I love this piece; it's very much what I'm after too and I can buy this way also. x KL

    1. Thank you so much! The marble side table is from Canvas and Sasson - I love it and still considering getting another for the opposite side of the couch

  3. Hi Louise, you have created a beautiful home! I admire your talent at putting everything together. I just wanted to ask if you had any trouble with your tiler when doing the French pattern tiles to your fireplace? We are having trouble trying to get out tiler to continue the pattern around the sides of the fireplace. Also, how did you hide the edge of the tiles on the corners of you fireplace?
    Thanks, Caris :)

    1. Hi Caris, We actually hired an amazing tiler. He was so good to work with and did such a great job. I have no idea of the process of what he had to do though. If you need his details just let me know
